Hello, fellow bookworms!
Are you ready to start off the new week with a new book in hand? We bet that since you are a fellow book lover, there is nothing better for you than getting lost on the pages of a book. Especially if it’s a really good one. Well, this week we have an amazing book to share with you – Finnish, The Gift of Done by Jon Acuff. If you have been starting your goals recently, but somehow dropped them in the middle and didn’t finish a single one, then this book is a must read for you!
Why should you read Finnish, The Gift of Done by Jon Acuff?
One of the most common things that we all do are the New Year resolutions and goals. Yet, based on many studies 92% of the people in the world never achieve them. You could argue that perhaps most people haven’t even started them or didn’t put in the effort into them. But, sometimes we know that even though you start off excited, and you put your best efforts in, you simply don’t achieve your goals. In his book, Acuff talks about this common issue and explains the very reasons why it occurs and one of them is perfectionism as well as procrastination.
Acuff faced the same issues when trying to accomplish his goals, and he tried many things, from simply trying harder, to hiring a life coach, attending lessons to help him finish his set goals. During his many lessons and exercises he learned that whatever the goal, the solution isn’t always to try harder, but rather to take the pressure off yourself.
In his amazing book, Acuff explains the very core of these issues, and shares exercises and valuable lessons that will help you achieve your goals, just as Acuff achieved his. While some of the exercises are a little counterintuitive, they do help. An amazing read!
