Word of the Week– Love
Love and loving are a very important aspect of our lives. Love is one of the strongest and purest emotions that we as human beings can feel. Its energy is said to be the moving force of the Universe itself. Think about it, all the greatest geniuses, all the inspiring people that changed the world, they did so by firstly, completely and absolutely loving what they were doing and completely devoting themselves.
So, naturally, there is a very important question that you should ask yourself:
If love is so important if love is the force that drives me through life, then why am I not giving enough love to myself?
Self-love is about giving yourself some credit, respecting yourself, knowing and accepting yourself. How can you give other people love if you do not grow feelings of love for yourself? We are certainly not talking about narcissism and conceit, but of a healthy relationship with yourself. By loving yourself and accepting yourself for who you are, that love will only grow until it spills and radiates from you to each person in your life.
So, don’t continue to undermine your importance and your needs, don’t be ashamed to show yourself and most importantly don’t be too harsh on yourself. Be kinder, more loving, more understanding of yourself. Be yourself and enjoy it. Give yourself what you need, and don’t think for one second that you are being selfish.
